Using a draw knife is not hard, but you need to use caution and safety.

Things You'll Need a Draw knife,a Log,and a Shaving Horse or several Vices.

First you will need to secure the log into a shaving horse or in a mounted vice.

Then put a hand on each handle of the draw knife with the blade facing you and scrape the draw knife under the bark at the end of the log until the bark comes off.

Remember to work the knife with even pressure under the bark until you reach the end of the log.

Do this until all bark is removed.

Logs cut in the winter are easier to peel.
